This explains what itshive does with your information and your child's, in plain words. It describes what the system actually stores, not what it might one day store.
Who we are

What we collect when you enquire

| How you found us | To understand which pages and adverts are useful. We never put your name or contact details in a web address. |
| A one-way code made from your internet address, and your browser type | To stop automated spam. The internet address itself is never stored, only a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into it. |
| Technical record-keeping | To identify the record and to stop the same enquiry being saved twice. |
What we collect about a child
Deliberately very little. We ask for a first name and, optionally, a grade. We do not ask for a date of birth, a school, an address or a photograph. Once a child is learning with us we also hold their classes, attendance, homework and a teacher's feedback, because that is the service.
We do not use a child's information for advertising. There is no advertising or analytics tracking anywhere in a learner's dashboard or homework area, and we do not build profiles of children.
Live classes
A live class runs on a video service, and during the class that service handles your child's image and voice under its own privacy policy. The service is named in the table above, and we will tell you which one a class uses before it runs. itshive does not record classes.
Marketing is separate from service messages
Replying to your enquiry, confirming a class or telling you a lesson has moved are part of the service and are not marketing. Marketing emails are opt-in, recorded separately with the exact wording you agreed to, and you can stop them at any time without affecting your classes.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become enrolments: 12 months.
- Learner records while a child is with us, then 3 years.
- Payment records: 8 years, because tax rules require it.
How it is protected
Accounts are protected by passwords we never see: they are handled and hashed by our sign-in provider. Access is enforced by the database itself, not just by what the screen shows, so a parent can only reach their own children's records, a learner only their own, and a teacher only the learners assigned to them. Homework files are stored privately and reached through short-lived links. Changes to balances and roles are recorded with who made them and when.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email itshiveedu@gmail.com and we will reply, tell you plainly what we must keep and why, and delete the rest.
